About The Author

Madeleine McDowell is an eighteen-year-old writer, mountain lover, and believer that there is light to be found in every wander. Cheerful and always searching for beauty in the ordinary, she finds joy in mountain trails at sunrise, quiet conversations with God, and the people who make her laugh.

She has been writing for as long as she can remember, but after losing her dad to brain cancer at a young age, she lost the passion for many of the things she once loved. She began writing again, discovering that poetry could hold the feelings she didn't yet know how to speak.

Madeleine believes that while time alone doesn't heal, what we choose to do with our time can. Her experiences taught her to treasure ordinary moments and search for the light that quietly exists, even in life's darkest seasons. That belief inspired The Light in Every Wander

Madeleine dreams of traveling the world, climbing mountains, and living a life rich in purpose rather than routine.

Above all, Madeleine hopes she isn't remembered as the girl with the broken heart, but as the girl who found a way through it and left the light on for those still finding theirs.
